Vehicle Seizures.

🚔 Another Positive Day for Your Local Neighbourhood Policing Team 🚔

Today, local Neighbourhood Police Officers were on patrol in the Westleigh area of Leigh when they spotted a vehicle being driven recklessly along Westleigh Lane.

The vehicle was stopped and, following a number of checks, was found to be uninsured. It was subsequently seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.

A short time later, the same officers observed two youths riding off-road motorbikes recklessly on Westleigh Lane, near Hindley Green. Upon noticing the officers, both riders attempted to hide before making off on foot, abandoning the bikes. The motorbikes were also seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.

✅ A good day for the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
✅ A good day for responsible and law-abiding road users.
❌ Not such a good day for those who choose to ignore the rules designed to keep everyone safe.

While the owner of the uninsured vehicle may be able to recover it at significant cost, the seized off-road bikes are likely destined for destruction and recycling into next years Coke Cans.
